Mushroom Flower | Scrapbook Nails

Only recently, after going through my polish collection multiple times, did I realise that I don't own a brown! So naturally, the next day I paid a visit to Superdrug & I picked up Barry M's Mushroom. It's a light brown and I love it, but I will be on the hunt for a nice chocolate colour & a darker brown too.

Last month I bought some dotting tools, and this is the end result of my first go at using them. Not too shabby! Obviously, I need to have a play around with the different sizes of the dots, and practice a bit more at making them join up, but I had a lot of fun & it really didn't take long at all.

I used:
Base coat - No7, So Smooth
Brown Base Colour-  Barry M, Mushroom (310)
Yellow middles - Barry M, Yellow (134)
Pink petals - OPI, Pink Friday
Blue petals - Barry M, Blue Moon (317)
Top coat - China Glaze, Fast Forward Top Coat

Fresh Frog of Bel Air | Scrapbook Nails

No nail art today. This polish from OPI's Muppets Collection is just b-e-a-uuutiful on it's own. It's made up of fine green glitter, and larger hexagon shaped silver glitter.
I did 4 coats of this polish, but only thin layers as I wanted it to dry quickly. The build up is pretty good, I could have got away with 3 coats. I just fancied really bold coverage.
One layer of top coat was enough for this, the glitter isn't as hungry as you'd expect!

It's love ♥.

Black & Gold Foil Nails | Scrapbook Nails

A pretty funky but simple look today. I did a base coat of black polish, put a layer of glue on each nail, and then quickly dabbed gold foil on top once the glue was partly dry, but still tacky.
The shape on each nail is unique, sometimes I doubble-dabbed(!) to make a different shape/ to give more coverage.
I love this, it's different but very easy to do. The only slight annoyance is that even after two layers of top coat, using two different polishes, the glue still gets tacky and all sorts of fluff gets stuck to the nails!

I will be trying this look out using different foils.

I used:

Base coat - No7, So Smooth

Base colour-  Miss Sporty, Black (no name)
Glue - Rio, Adhesive (part of kit)Foil - Rio, Gold (part of kit)
Top coat 1 - Rio, 2 in 1 (part of kit)
Top coat 2 - China Glaze, Fast Forward Top Coat

Starry Pink Friday | Scrapbook Nails

I'm not usually a baby pink polish fan, but I love this colour! It's really opaque for a creme shade, and only took two coats for full coverage. It's not streaky at all, but the formula is quite thick.

I added chunky purple stars in a diagonal line across all nails to liven it up a bit, but even on it's own this colour is beautiful.

After wearing this for a day, I mattefied my nails. The colour matte looks luuuush, it almost makes it even more girly. I also think the matte top coat helped to keep the stars on too. It's a bit thicker then your average topcoat, and as the stars aren't flat, the extra layer helped keep 'em in place!

I think this colour would make a great base for a glitter sandwich. That might just have to be done...!

I used:
Base coat - No7, So Smooth
Base colour-  OPI, Pink Friday (Nicki Minaj collection)
Top coat - China Glaze, Fast Forward Top Coat
Matte top coat (added day 2) - Topshop Nails, Matte Top Coat

^^ Here you can see how far the stars come off my nails. Love the 3D feel of them!

The next two photos are with the polish mattefied!
