Christmas Day Gradient Nails | Scrapbook Nails

I ordered some Christmas themed nail stickers off Ebay, and they arrived on Christmas Eve. What great timing! So here's how my Christmas Day nails turned out...

I used:
Base coat - No7, So Smooth
Base colour – Barry M, Silver Foil
First gradient layer – Models Own, snow white
Second gradient layer – Barry M, Blue
I used the same Superdrug sponge as in my last gradient mani & then topped each nail with a cheeky snowflake.

The pictures I took do not do this justice, I LOVED this mani, and it lasted a good few days. I think the layers help to prevent chipping.

Matching Nails & Tights | Scrapbook Nails

Colour Coordination, my friends - that's always fun.
I painted my nails to match my tights. These tights cost me £3 from Primark. They are black, but with three coloured stripes on the thigh. Something a bit different for the Christmas party!

I used:
Base coat - No7, So Smooth
Base colour - Models Own, Red'n'Black
Orange stripe - Nails Inc, Atomic
Pink stripe - Nails inc, New York
Blue stripe - Barry M, B (029)
Top coat - China Glaze, Fast Forward Top Coat

They were done freehand, hence the wobbly bits <3

Green & Gold sponge gradient | Scrapbook Nails

This was my first attempt at the sponge gradient technique, and I was pretty happy with how it turned out.
I couldn't get a picture in daylight, and the flash isn't showing the colours true to how they are in real life, but you can see the gradient effect. I used a greeny/gold for the first layer to try and make the gradient transition more smooth, but it's a very translucent lacquer, so you can't see it very clearly. It probably could have done with another coat.

I used:
Base coat - No7, So Smooth
Base colour – China Glaze, Turned Up Turquoise (neon)
First gradient layer – OPI, Sit Under The Apple Tree
Second gradient layer – Nails Inc (mini), Hans Cresent
Top coat - China Glaze, Fast Forward Top Coat
I bought the sponge from Superdrug

Candy Cane Nails

So my candy cane nails didn't turn out how I'd hoped, but I still think they looked quite nice.
Instead of the ring finger being different, I had my pinky nail different, adding a layer of glitter on top of a solid red base.
I used:
Base - OPI, Alpine Snow
Stripes & pinky - RIO, metallic red nail art pen
Glitter - OPI, I Lily Love You

I decided to add a matte topcoat.
Boots, No 7, Stay Perfect Matte Top Coat

Red with Pink Crackle | Scrapbook Nails

I painted my nails with Nails Inc's St James - a nice bold red. I wanted to do tips, but I couldn't get the lid off my bottle of white! So I put on Barry M's Pink Crackle, thinking that the two colours would clash, but I end up being pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

Christmas Water Marble

I wanted to do a festive water marble using gold, red & green.
I used a base of OPI's Alpine Snow, then for the marble colours I had a few options (shown below) but in the end, I used:
Barry M's Gold Foil - 320
Barry M's Spring Green - 290
and Nails inc Aspen

I did different patterns on each hand, my right hand is more bold and blocky - and the most Christmassy!

Mad as a Hatter swirls

My pictures don't do this justice, it was really quite pretty. I got my inspiration form here
In my version, I used two coats of OPI's mad as a hatter glitter, and a black pen.
Hopefully when I get a new camera I will be able to capture a better image.

Matte black with a splash of colour

This is one of my favourite looks. It was a simple black base with colourful stickers put on top, then the whole lot mattified.

Nail Scrapbook

All my old (and mostly rubbish) nail designs from when my addiction started in 2009 have been posted to my other blog.
I stopped blogging about a year ago as I lost my inspiration & blogging mojo, but the nail polish addiction has only got worse, so I've now decided that I would like all my nail designs/ looks/ experiments in one place - going forwards I will upload them all here.

And so my nail scrapbook has been created.
